HB1055 Infant Eye Care Bill - Joey's Bill

This Bill legislates that a doctor must offer parents an infant eye dilation exam at birth; and at the 6-8 week and 6-9 month well-baby exams. Vision screenings are already required, per the American Academy of Pediatrics. HB1055 would add one additional step - the application of drops to enhance the quality of this exam.  This simple step could prevent blindness and even death. It would cost an additional 10¢ and 10 seconds of the nurse's time to accomplish.
